When Charles Brand, his wife Beth and parents Chippy and Cynthia first opened the doors of Cape Grace in December 1996, their vision was of a hotel that felt more like a good friend's home. The décor and environment needed to reflect its five star aspirations but most importantly, staff needed to relate to guests as personal hosts with warmth and enthusiasm.

Ten years later and now owned by Kingdom Meikles Africa, Cape Grace remains true to its operating philosophy of genuine hospitality and a desire to exceed guests’ expectations. Certification is based on adherence to specific criteria such as fair wages and working conditions; fair distribution of benefits; ethical business practice; and respect for human rights, culture and environment.
